Open House by United Way
To spotlight the housing affordability crisis in Toronto, we transformed a 150 sq. ft. parking spot into a one-bedroom “apartment” for rent at $250/month—a striking visual metaphor for how rising rents and stagnant wages have left many feeling squeezed out of livable spaces.
The OpenHouse exhibit launched during Nuit Blanche on September 23rd, inviting passersby to step inside the “unit” and experience the harsh reality of Toronto’s rental market firsthand. The activation aimed to spark conversation, raise awareness, and inspire collective action toward finding real solutions.
As the social media lead, my role was to drive awareness for the campaign and boost foot traffic to the event. I developed the content strategy, captured and produced all social content, and managed publishing across channels. My photography was also featured as part of the campaign’s creative assets, helping to visually highlight the exhibit and extend its reach online.
